About Lettie Brown Elementary School
 

Lettie Brown Elementary is one of the four elementary schools within Morton CUSD 709. Lettie Brown currently has two sections each of early childhood education through sixth grade, with 349 students, 26 certified staff members, and 28 non-certified staff members. Lettie Brown is well-known for educational excellence, active parent involvement, community service, and school spirit. Lettie Brown offers a comprehensive educational program including:

  • General education

  • Special education

  • English Language Learner programming

  • Speech/language therapy

  • Social work/psychological services

  • Response to Intervention (RtI)

  • Music education

  • Band (6th grade)

  • Orchestra (6th grade)

  • Choir (5th and 6th grade)

Lettie Brown opened in 1977 and was named after Ms. Lettie Brown, who taught in Morton Schools for 50 years. The facility includes 13 general education classrooms, 3 special education classrooms, library, computer lab, music room, gymnasium/cafeteria, math enrichment/RtI room, reading RtI rooms, speech/language room, and administrative offices. Lettie Brown is surrounded by a beautiful campus including a hard surface playground area, several pieces of playground equipment, baseball/softball diamond, and 2 soccer fields.
