Welcome To Lettie Brown Elementary Thanks for Visiting

5th Grade Egg Drop

To conclude the science mini-unit of Newton’s Laws of Motion, the fifth graders were assigned the task of protecting a fragile egg from the direct effects of gravity, momentum, and inertia.  It was an egg-stra cold day, and through the first snow flurries of the season, 50 students braved the elements with group-created contraptions.  Only 6 groups survived the egg-citing challenge!

6th Enrichment

The sixth grade students completed an activity to understand ratios using Legos.  They were to make a design with their Legos and scale it up 5x, 15x, 30x and 45x.  The students then had to  give the ratio for those scaled models.  Great job sixth graders! 

Stone Soup
