Spelling Bee

Published: January 29, 2015

On January 21, 2015, twelve Lettie Brown students from fourth through sixth grade competed in the school’s annual Spelling Bee. Each of the twelve students qualified for the final competition by winning his or her individual classroom’s spelling bee.

During the final competition, one student became Lettie Brown’s 2014-2015 champion. Congratulations to Tyson, a fifth grader from Mrs. Gingerich’s room!

Thank you to Lettie Brown’s PTO for the awards given to the contestants. Each contestant received a Walmart gift card. Tyson will also get his name placed on a plaque that hangs in Lettie Brown’s hallway.

The first place winner from each of the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classroom spelling bees, including the school champion, will represent our school at the district spelling bee, which will be held on February 4, 2015 at Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center. Good luck to Madeline (4B), Abby (4Z), Tyson (5G), Katherine (5F), Izzy (6W), and Ian (6M).

Thanks for another fun and exciting spelling bee,

Mrs. Gingerich
