Click on the links below for information concerning new requirements for the TDaP immunization for next year’s entering 6th and 9th graders from the Tazewell County Health Department. Morton will be hosting a health clinic on June 7, 4-6 p.m. at the District Office (1050 S. Fourth Ave.). Cost of the immunization is $8 for Tazewell County residents and $18 for out-of-county.

The District 709 Administration and Board of Education would like to invite the community to an open house for Dr. Lindsey Hall, superintendent effective July 1, 2012. The event will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26 at Eli’s in downtown Morton.
Dr. Hall is currently the assistant superintendent of human resources for DeKalb District 428.
She has a variety of educational experience is school districts of different sizes. Prior to her current position she was the Principal at DeKalb High School, Principal of Mahomet-Seymour Junior High, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Mahomet-Seymour Junior High and a health and science teacher at Danville.
She and her husband, Jay, have four adult children – two in college and two in the work force. Dr. Roger Kilpatrick, current superintendent of District 709, will retire on June 30, 2012.
PTO Highlights
The fall fundraiser will be a walkathon. We will need lots of volunteers and hard work to get it done. Please contact chairperson Jennifer Strube at [email protected] to volunteer or share information about possible business sponsors.

Art Fair Day was a great success! It went smoothly and the kids had a fantastic time. However, we can always use more volunteers.
The playground equipment has arrived. It will be installed at no charge by the district maintenance crew over the summer. They will also repaint the swingsets are replace the swing chains.

The Box Tops website now offers a store to shop in for school supplies. Teachers are able to create a "Wish List" of items they could use for their classroom. Parents can then purchase these items as teacher gifts. For all purchases Box Tops will then give 2% back to the school. (Click on the Earn Tab and then My Class Essentials)
